DOROTHY MAY PALMER (nee THOMPSON) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Dorothy May Palmer, on July 1, 2000. Dorothy will be missed by her husband Glen who, as of August 16, would have been married 60 years. She will also be deeply missed by her sons, Ron of Petersfield and Wayne (Alice) of Calgary; and her daughter, Ellen (Jim) Brennan of Chilliwack, B.C. She also leaves to cherish her memory, sisters Elsie and Pearl; her brother Wesley; daughter-in-law John; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Dorothy was born in Selkirk on February 11, 1921. She lived in Netley until 1940 when she married her husband Glen. They farmed in Petersfield until 1994 before retiring to live in Selkirk. At Dorothys request, no formal service will be held. A private family interment of ashes will take place at a later date in the St. Georges Anglican Cemetery, Wakefield, MB. The family would like to thank the staff of the Selkirk Hospital and the Health Sciences Centre for their care and compassion. Thanks also to the homecare workers and especially Kim for her extra kindness and friendship. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in Dorothys memory to a charity of ones choice. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, in care of arrangements.
